Ever wondered how the world’s favorite snack was born? Let’s find out!

In 1853, at a fancy restaurant in New York, a chef named George Crum made a snack that would change the world.

One day, a customer ordered fried potatoes but complained they were too thick and soggy. He sent them back!

George was frustrated and decided to make the potatoes super thin, frying them until they were crunchy, almost as a joke.

But when the customer tasted the crispy thin potatoes, he loved them! He couldn't stop eating.

Word spread fast, and soon everyone was coming to the restaurant to try these new “potato chips”!

Potato chips became so popular that they started being sold in stores across the U.S. by the 1920s.

Today, potato chips are one of the most loved snacks around the world, with many flavors and varieties!

Who knew that one customer complaint could lead to one of the tastiest inventions ever?

Do you love salty, spicy, or cheesy chips? Whichever it is, thank George Crum for this crispy treat!
